Los Angeles Salad Company acquired its name in 1999 when Robert Hana purchased River Ranch Fresh Foods in Los Angeles from the Albert Fisher Group. Nearly 75 years after the company's 1939 founding as Sunny Sally, Los Angeles Salad Company continues to offer the finest fresh-cut and specialty vegetables to our Foodservice and Retail customers.
Over the last decade, our line of specialty produce has flourished to meet increasing demand. Los Angeles Salad Company is now a family owned and operated business, serving our customers as Grower, Packer and Shipper.

Why Los Angeles Salad Company?
Los Angeles Salad Company is a family owned and operated business, particularly acclaimed for quality specialty vegetables including French Green Beans (Haricots Verts) and fresh-cut produce.
Our first priority is Food Safety. We follow the industry's strictest Food Safety guidelines throughout the food chain. The Quality Assurance department has strict oversight through all facets of our organization, from field to customer, providing an uninterrupted supply of safe, quality produce.
The majority of our items are grown from specialty seed, hand harvested and packed at source. As Grower, Packer and Shipper, we partner with our customers to grow produce for their specific needs and specifications.
The diversity of growing areas helps ensure consistent supply and reduces the risk of shortages; we transition seasonally to fields in different geographical locations.
EXTENDED SHELF LIFE
All of our bags and trays are individually designed to extend the shelf life of each specific item.
Our Customer Service team works closely with each customer to achieve their goals and meet their needs. We pride ourselves on clear and timely communication.
From paperboy in Los Angeles to gas station attendant in his early teens, Bob Hana quickly learned the importance of hard work and customer satisfaction. He took this knowledge with him when he entered the produce industry at the age of 15 with G&G Produce in downtown Los Angeles. There, he went from sweeping floors to driving a truck, all while putting himself through school at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. In 1969, Bob earned his business degree and began working with the sales team at G&G. Having little sales experience in a highly competitive environment, Bob struggled with a fundamental question: â��Why would anyone want to buy anything from me?â�� After much serious consideration, he came to a simple conclusion that would become the cornerstone of his mission statement at LA Salad: business is about people, and what he has to offer to his customers is his word.
With a conviction to deal fairly and honestly, he spent the next 20 years committed to providing the highest level of service and reliability. After he became a partner in the company in 1984, he continued to work at increasing sales until 1988 when G&G was ultimately purchased by a large international food company. Ready for a new challenge, Bob took a position with fresh vegetable processor River Ranch Fresh Foods in Los Angeles. He worked as the VP of Sales and ultimately as COO until the spring of 1999 when Bob purchased the company and took it private. Operating under the new name of Los Angeles Salad Company, Bob continues to oversee LA Saladâ��s evolution, working to develop new and exciting items for foodservice and retail markets alike
